Dan K. Moore, Director of Personnel
Substitute Teaching
Macon County Schools welcomes applications from individuals who are interested in becoming substitute teachers. Please follow the procedures below to file an application for substitute teaching.
Applying To Become a Substitute Teacher
1. Download and complete a Substitute Teaching Application, and an Authorization and Release Form to authorize your background check.
2. After you have downloaded and completed these forms, the application should be submitted to a principal at any Macon County School for approval. The principal will sign and approve the application and forward to the Personnel Department. The Personnel Department will complete your background check, then place your application on the Board Agenda for approval at the monthly Board of Education meeting.
3. Once approved by the Board of Education, you will be sent a letter confirming your approval. Upon receipt of your letter, you will need to contact Lynn Fox in the Personnel Department to schedule an appointment to complete the remainder of your paperwork which usually takes 15-20 minutes to complete
